William Cline Borden : ウィキペディア英語版 | William Cline Borden
William Cline Borden (1858–1934) was an American surgeon who was a key planner behind the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Borden was also dean of the School of Medicine at George Washington University. According to the medical center website, Borden "was the initiator, planner and effective mover for the creation, location, and first congressional support of the medical center." For this reason, it is still referred to today as "Borden's dream." 〔(Major Walter Reed, Medical Corps, U.S. Army. )〕 In 1909 Borden was named dean of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at George Washington University. He was awarded an honorary doctor of science degree from that institution in 1931. In 1992, the Center of Excellence in Military Medical Research and Education was renamed the Borden Institute in his honor. ==References==
